 Thursday, June 29,2023

AsemconnectVietnam - On Thursday, Robusta coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing area fell by VND800 to VND65,600 – VND66,000 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.

Gia Nghia of Dak Nong provided the maximum price of VND66,000/kg, while traders in Lam Dong province offered the lowest price of VND65,600/kg. Robusta coffee fell to VND65,600 per kg in Bao Loc, Di Linh, and Lam Ha; to VND65,700 – VND65,800 per kg in Dak Lak; to VND65,900 – VND66,000 per kg in Dak Nong; to VND65,700 per kg in Kon Tum, and to VND65,600 - VND65,700 per kg in Gia Lai.
Vietnam’s ca phe sua da (iced coffee with condensed milk) ranks second in the Best-Rated Iced Coffee (BRIC) list by TasteAtlas.
Italy’s ristretto landed first place and the Vietnamese coffee came in at a close second.
TasteAtlas noted Vietnam’s use of Robusta coffee, widely grown in the country, particularly in Dak Lak province in the Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) region.
Vietnam’s genuine way of making coffee isn't replicated en masse anywhere else in the world. Boiled water is poured into a metal coffee filter that rests on top of a glass. Strong coffee drops into the glass and mixes with a pool of sweet condensed milk and ice. The result is a highly morish drink that packs a strong punch.
In the first five months of this year, Vietnam's coffee exports were estimated at 882,000 tonnes, worth more than two billion USD. The country’s average export price of coffee is at 2,295 USD per tonne, up 2.4% over the same period last year.
From now until the end of the year, coffee exports will still have good prospects when demand increases while supply is not expected to improve. It is forecast that coffee output this year will decrease by 10%-15%/year due to unfavourable weather.
