AsemconnectVietnam - On Wednesday, Robusta coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing area rose by 200 VND to VND50,500 – 51,000 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.com.

Cư M'gar of Dak Lak provided the maximum price of VND51,000/kg, while traders in Lam Dong province offered the lowest price of VND50,500/kg. Robusta coffee increased to VND50,500 per kg in Bao Loc, Di Linh, and Lam Ha; to VND50,900- 51,000 per kg in Dak Lak; to VND50,800-50,900 per kg in Dak Nong; to VND50,900 per kg in Kon Tum, and to VND50,800-50,900 per kg in Gia Lai.
Coffee prices are now entering an uptrend for the third year in a row. According to the Vietnam Commodity Exchange, the difficulties in boosting Vietnam's coffee exports in 2023 are the supply, quality and origin of coffee.
At the end of 2022, the European Union (EU) issued a decree banning the import of coffee related to deforestation, causing concerns about the amount of Vietnamese coffee that could be exported to this market and poses the problem of developing coffee in a more sustainable way.
The EU's tightening regulation of pesticide residues for nuts, including coffee, at 0.1 mg/kg, is also a difficulty, requiring farmers to adjust production methods to meet the New export standard.
