DAILY: Vietnamese pepper prices remained unchanged on April 18

AsemconnectVietnam - On Tuesday, domestic pepper prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands remained unchanged at VND63,000 – 66,000 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi,vn.

In Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, the maximum price for pepper rose to VND66,000 per kg, while in Gia Lai province, the lowest price stayed at VND63,000 per kg. Farmers in Binh Phuoc sold pepper for VND65,000 per kilogram, Dong Nai province for VND63,500 per kilogram and in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces for VND64,000 per kilogram.
According to the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's pepper exports in March of 2023 reached approximately 35,750 tonnes, worth of 106.47 million USD, up by 27.6% in volume and up by 26.5% in value compared to February of 2023. In comparison to March of 2022, the figure increased by 50.6% in volume, but decreased by 4.7% in value.
In the first quarter of 2023, Vietnam's pepper exports reached approximately 76,200 tonnes, worth of 233.45 million USD, down by 6.0% in volume and by 34.3% in value over the same period of 2022.
Regarding export prices, in March of 2023, the average export price of Vietnam's pepper reached 2,978 USD/tonne, down by 0.9% compared to February of 2023 and down by 36.7% compared to March of 2022. In the first quarter of this year, the average export price of Vietnam's pepper reached 3,064 USD/tonne, down by 34.3% over the same period of 2022.
The country’s pepper exports to the US, United Arab Emirates, India, Germany, Netherlands, UK markets in March of this year decreased compared to the same period of 2022. In contrast, pepper exports to other markets, such as Singapore, Turkey, and Egypt grew by 3 to 4 digits.

Generally, in the first quarter, pepper exports to the US, Germany, Netherlands and UK markets decreased compared to the same period of 2023. In contrast, pepper exports to the United Arab Emirates, Philippines, Turkey, Egypt, etc. increased sharply.
