AsemconnectVietnam - According to the calculations from the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's goods exports to the Indonesian market in February of 2023 reached 403.8 million USD, up by 13.6% over the previous month.

Generally, in the first two months of 2023, the country’s total exports of goods to Indonesia reached 758.9 million USD, down by 6.8% over the same period last year.
Iron and steel of all kinds led the export turnover to the Indonesian market in February of 2023, reaching 44.2 million USD, up by 60.8% compared to the previous month. The figure of the 2 months of 2023 reached 71.6 million USD, up by 2.9%, accounting for 9.4% proportion.
The next was rice with 26.3 million USD, down by 35.5% compared to the previous month. The figure of the 2 months of 2023 reached 67.3 million USD, increasing by more than 30 times, accounting for 8.8% of the total export proportion.
In the first 2 months of 2023, a number of items with export turnover increased compared to the previous month, including phones of all kinds and components increased by 75.7%; means of transport and spare parts increased by 48.4%; coffee increased by 141.3%; footwear of all kinds increased by 92.6%; chemicals increased by 253.6%; electrical wires and cables increased by 229.5%.
Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world, Islam account nearly 85% of the population. The consumption market of Halal products (products "allowed", "legal" for use under Islamic Law) in Indonesia reached 220 billion USD in 2018 and is expected to grow to 330.5 billion USD in 2025. This is a potential market for Vietnamese exporters, especially those that produce quality products and obtain Halal certification.
