AsemconnectVietnam - On Friday, Robusta coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing area rose by 300 VND to VND47,000 – 47,400 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.com.

Cư M'gar of Dak Lak provided the maximum price of VND47,400/kg, while traders in Lam Dong province offered the lowest price of VND47,000/kg. Robusta coffee increased to VND47,000 per kg in Bao Loc, Di Linh, and Lam Ha; to VND47,300- 47,400 per kg in Dak Lak; to VND47,200-47,300 per kg in Dak Nong; to VND47,300 per kg in Kon Tum, and to VND47,200-47,300 per kg in Gia Lai.
Vietnam exported over 342,000 tonnes of coffee in the first two months of the year, earning 745 million USD, down 7% in volume and 9.5 percent in value year-on-year.
Coffee trading in Vietnam has been slow in the past weeks, hit by low stocks, traders said on Thursday, while trading was muted in Indonesia due to a public holiday.
"There was not much trading in the market," said a trader based in the coffee belt.
Another trader based in the same region said farmers had sold most of their stock and refrained from selling the remaining.
"Farmers are not really under pressure to sell now. Those who need urgent cash can generate it from selling peppers or fruits such as passion fruits or durian instead."
