The Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand on October 9 night held a culinary festival to celebrate the 74th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).
Representatives of Thai ministries and agencies, and about 500 Vietnamese in Thailand joined the event.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Nguyen Hai Bang highlighted Vietnam’s firm and stable economic development as well as the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Thailand – two members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Two-way trade has been expanded over the past years and is expected to reach 20 billion USD in 2020 as set by the two Governments, he said, adding that many big Thai groups are operating successfully in Vietnam.
The festival featured ten booths displaying traditional Vietnamese dishes like “pho” (noodle soup), “bun cha” (vermicelli with grilled pork and fresh herbs) and “nem” (spring roll), along with different types of beverages.
Festival-goers also had a chance to enjoy art performances staged by Vietnamese artists./.
