Hyundai suspends activities of car assembling factory in Vietnam

 Wednesday, April 1,2020

AsemconnectVietnam - TC Motor, an assembling and distributing company belonging to automotive manufacturing giant Hyundai, is to temporarily suspend production from April 1-15 due to the growing impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic.

Based in the northern province of Ninh Binh, TC Motor’s factory is expected to resume operations in mid-April when the disease is successfully contained by competent authorities.
A TC Motor representative stated that the decision to suspend production has been made with the aim of protecting the health of workers, partners, and customers amid the COVID-19 epidemic nationally.
The company had kept up production in a bid to ensure supply sources for the market when the COVID-19 epidemic broke out in the Republic of Korea, the main supplier of Hyundai models assembled in Vietnam. However, the company is not able to maintain production activities in the current climate.
TC Motor represents the third automotive company after Ford and Toyota to suspend operations at factories in the country as a result of the COVID-19.
