The companies on August 7 signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop solutions connecting road and air travel for customers across Southeast Asia, in addition to providing a delivery service on the local market.

With technological solutions provided by Swift247, Grab and Vietjet will connect air with road transportation, offering a super express delivery service.

In the first phase, Swift247 customers will be able to deliver goods between Hanoi and HCMC within five hours using GrabExpress delivery services on the Grab platform and Vietjet aircraft. Also, customers can track the delivery process on the website and mobile app of Swift247.

The firms are set to integrate Swift247 services with the Grab platform, giving customers of the three parties easier access to delivery services.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, president and CEO of Vietjet Air, said that this was a partnership between a carrier boasting a large number of domestic passengers in Vietnam and a ride-hailing app operator with a wide network of driver-partners in Southeast Asia, as well as a tech startup for the next generation.

Vietjet expects this collaboration to bring fresh changes to the local delivery market and to create a great customer experience, as well as meet rising demand for cargo delivery services, said Thao.

The partnership also marks another step forward in Vietjet’s efforts to become a “Consumer Airline,” providing all services that meet Vietjet passengers’ needs, she added.

Further, the partnership will expand the current services of GrabExpress, including on-demand delivery, same-day delivery and cash on delivery services.

GrabExpress, an on-demand delivery service provider, has the largest network in the country and is the preferred delivery service of consumers, e-commerce platforms and businesses.
