Google helps Vietnamese start-ups go international
Thursday, March 14,2019AsemconnectVietnam - Google has recently announced a programme to help Vietnamese start-ups go global.
Vietnamese start-ups less than five years old yet to process Series B funding will be eligible for Google Cloud packages worth US$20,000 to 100,000, said a Google representative.
Firms with products based on digital technology and those eyeing global markets can register at g.co/cloudstartups.
The Google Cloud for Startups aims to help users to develop their own start-ups with infrastructure and tools used by Google.
Early-stage start-ups can take advantage of community events, training and Cloud credits as they build their business.
Viet Nam is among the most dynamic start-up hubs in the world and well-educated, young entrepreneurs are expected to improve the country’s position on the global start-up map.
There are no official statistics on start-ups in Viet Nam, but according to some regional tech sources, as many as 3,000 are operating in the country, making it the third largest start-up ecosystem in Asia.
The country jumped 12 places to 47th among 127 economies on the World Intellectual Property Organisation’s 2017 Global Innovation Index, its highest ranking in the past 10 years. In Southeast Asia, it sits behind only Singapore and Malaysia.
