The financial report of Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR - UPCoM) for the first 6 months of the year showed that in 2023, the production and business situation of BSR faced many difficulties and challenges, the petroleum market there are many fluctuations, not as favorable as in 2022; The trend of energy transition is taking place rapidly, the geopolitical situation in some parts of the world is still complicated, but with the determination to overcome difficulties, BSR's Board of Directors and employees have applied flexibly, creative solutions such as volatility management, cost reduction, financial balance, production optimization/rationalization, maintenance, promotion of technical innovations, scientific research... helped BSR get positive business results.
Specifically, the solution to increase the operating capacity of CDU, KTU, NHT, RFCC ... technology workshops has helped the capacity of Dung Quat Oil Refinery to increase, increase the volume of products supplied to the market, and contribute to stabilizing the domestic petroleum market. In the first 6 months of the year, BSR's production and consumption volume reached about 3,546 million tons of products of all kinds, revenue reached VND67,741 billion and profit after tax reached VND3,008 billion.
BSR also focuses on diversifying products, especially products that are in demand and have high value in the market. BSR has further developed 6 types of fuel products and 5 types of petrochemical products. Specifically, 3 types of special fuel for defense (Jet A-1K, DO L-62 oil, RON 83 gasoline); 1 type of T-LCO oil used as a petrochemical raw material; 1 type of Mixed C4 as a petrochemical raw material/Alkylate gasoline production (first batch tested). 5 types of petrochemical products, which are new PP resins: T3045, T3050, I3085, I3150, BOPP F3030.
Recently, BSR has successfully sold 2,000 tons of new product Mixed C4 to Marubeni Company. This is a product containing 4 types of Butene compounds (Iso butene, 1-butene, cis-buten-2, trans-butene-2) used for the purpose of producing petrochemicals, chemicals or producing quality Alkylate gasoline and high value.
Most recently, at 0:33 am on July 27, 2023, BSR has reached the milestone of 40 million safe working hours, no work-related accidents and lost working days (since June 2, 2014). To achieve the above achievements in Environmental Health and Safety is the commitment of BSR leaders for safety work; is the constant effort, solidarity and above all, the creative working spirit, the sense of compliance with regulations, processes and safety instructions of each employee when working at Dung Quat Oil Refinery.
With the characteristics of the petroleum production and processing plant, Dung Quat Oil Refinery always has potential risks of fire and explosion incidents and occupational accidents. Well aware of that and with the close attention and direction of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, BSR has synchronously deployed many solutions and programs to control safety such as: Promote enrichment of management culture Risk management, safety culture with many specific programs and activities are implemented throughout the Company on the basis of Corporate culture with the core value system "Integrity - Professionalism - Solidarity - Creativity - Effective” and spread to the Contractors; continue to review and improve to perfect the environmental safety management system; organize safety training for BSR employees and contractors working at the Factory; reward and encourage employees to work safely...
