Nestlé Vietnam introduces premium quality Vietnamese coffee to the world

 Saturday, March 28,2020

AsemconnectVietnam - Nestlé Vietnam has introduced Nescafé Aromatico and Nescafé Excellente – the two latest products made of premium quality coffee beans sourced from the Central Highlands of Vietnam. In addition to Nescafé Dolce Gusto and instant coffee variations adapted to various consumer’s tastes, this is another significant effort by Nestlé Vietnam to enhance the value of local coffee beans and to promote Vietnamese coffee to the world.

While Nescafé Aromatico is a powerful blend of Arabica and Robusta medium roasted coffee beans, Nescafé Excellente is made 100 per cent from dark roasted Arabica beans, following a recipe designed specifically for consumers from Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. Both premium quality products are made to serve Nestlé’s export markets.

All of these products are from the production lines of the state-of-the-art Nestlé Tri An factory; at the end of a tightly controlled production process that begins with a rigorous selection of premium green coffee beans from the Vietnamese Central Highlands.
William Mackereth, Supply Chain Director at Nestlé Vietnam, said, “Vietnamese coffee is one of the most compelling beverages in the world, with its authentic aroma and strong, unique taste. Nestlé Vietnam already takes whole coffee beans to the wider world, including Pakistan, Thailand, and the Philippines – but there is enormous capacity for further opportunities. With the right certification, our Nescafé Whole Roasted Coffee Beans can be taken anywhere in the world.”
“Asian countries are some of the most dynamic markets and we are constantly working to extend ties of co-operation in the region. These efforts are bearing fruit with China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore becoming the next destinations on our journey to bring Nestlé Vietnam and Vietnamese coffee to the world,” Will explained.
At present, Nestlé Vietnam produces a wide range of products sourced entirely from the highest – quality Vietnam Robusta coffee beans in Vietnam.
In 2018, Nestlé launched Nescafé Dolce Gusto capsule production line to create products with carefully selected green coffee beans from Vietnam highlands at the Nestlé Tri An Factory, Dong Nai province. At the end of 2019, Nescafé Dolce Gusto reached the big achievement of completing the profile of seven different recipes for export to South-East Asian, East-Asian & Oceanian markets.
Nestlé is currently the leading coffee buyer in Vietnam, ultimately purchasing 20-25 per cent of the country’s total coffee output. Each year, Nestlé’s coffee sourcing activities inject around $650 million into the rural economy.
In order to raise the value of Vietnamese coffee beans, Nestlé Vietnam has also implemented its Nescafé Plan since 2011. Via the initiative, Nestlé has distributed 36 million high-yielding and disease-resistant coffee plantlets to farmers in five provinces of the Central Highlands. The initiative has also helped a government re-farming programme to rejuvenate more than 36,000 hectares of aged coffee areas and provided training for over 240,000 coffee famers on best farming practices, equipping them with useful techniques to improve bean quality and sustainable farming.
For the positive outcomes it has been delivering to consumers and partners alike, Nestlé Vietnam has been recognised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for its important role in the development of the Vietnamese coffee industry. The company was awarded Certificates of Merit for its outstanding contributions to the coffee industry and sustainable agricultural development.
