Hanoi Beer Alcohol and Beverage Joint Stock Corporation (Habeco) is located at 183 Hoang Hoa Tham street, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi. The company was established on May 16, 2003 under Decision No.75/2003/QD-BCN. of the Minister of Industry (now the Ministry of Industry and Trade) on the basis of rearranging Hanoi Beer Company and its member units; The company officially moved to the organization and operation of the parent-subsidiary model in the Decision No.36/2004/QD-BCN dated May 11, 2004 of the Minister of Industry.
The major industries of Habeco include: Producing and trading beer, alcohol, beverages and packaging; Import and export of raw materials, materials, equipment, spare parts and chemicals; Providing scientific and technological services, investment consultancy, creation of investment capital sources, organization of raw material areas, real estate business, other services and sectors as prescribed by law.
Habeco's predecessor is Hommel Brewery with 30 workers, founded in 1890 by a Frenchman named Hommel for the purpose of serving the French Expeditionary Force. In 1954, the North completely liberated, the French withdrew and dismantled the entire machinery leaving the Hommel Brewery in ruins. In 1957, Hommel Brewery was restored under the economic recovery policy of the Government and renamed Hanoi Brewery.
In 1993, Hanoi Brewery changed its operation model, renamed Hanoi Beer Company and stepped up the renovation of equipment to raise the capacity to 50 million liters per year. By 2001, the company increased the capacity to 100 million liters per year.
After being transformed into a state-owned corporation in 2003, the event marking a turning point in the expansion of international co-operation was that Habeco signed a strategic partnership with Carlberg Beer Group in 2007.
On June 16, 2008, Habeco officially transformed its operation model into a joint stock company with the official name of Hanoi Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Joint Stock Corporation (Habeco).
In 2010, Habeco increased the capacity of nearly 400 million liters per year thanks to the completion of a project to build a brewery with a capacity of 200 million liters per year in Me Linh, Hanoi, with the most modern integrated equipment system in Southeast Asia. Habeco becomes one of the two largest brewers in Vietnam.
At present, Habeco has 25 member companies, with the main products: Hanoi Beer, Hanoi Beer Bottle 450ml Red Label, HANOI BEER Premium, Hanoi Beer 450ml Green Label, Hanoi Beer Cans, Beer Truc Bach, Hanoi Liquor.
The average growth rate in recent years is 20 percent. Habeco’s average revenue increases 30% annually, the average state budget spending increased by more than 20 percent and the annual profit increases 12 percent.
Implementing the decision of the Prime Minister approving the master plan on development of the Hanoi Beer, Alcohol and Beverages industry up to 2010-2015, Habeco will be built into one of the strongest corporations, playing the leading role in the industry of producing beer, alcohol and beverage to meet the requirements of integration and make positive contributions to the national economy.
During the operation, Habeco Corporation has been awarded many honors, medals and other noble awards.

- The Ministry of Industry awarded the emulation flag (1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003). In 2005, 2006 Habeco received the government emulation flag.
- The party of the Corporation for 14 consecutive years (1990 - 2003) was commended by the Party Committee and the Industrial Bloc Party Committee for the emulation flag and recognition of the clean and strong Party.
- The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded the emulation flag (1999, 2000, 2003 - 2006) and received the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister in June 2007.
- For 5 consecutive years (1998-2002), the Youth Union of the Corporation was awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Central Youth Union.
- In addition, Habeco has received many certificates of merit from branches and levels for production, business, social, defense and life. ..
- In June 2002, the quality management system of the corporation was certified by TUV NORD of the Federal Republic of Germany to ISO 9001: 2000.
- In 2005, Habeco was accepted to apply the environmental management system to meet the requirements of ISO 14000: 2004.
- In 2006, Habeco developed and applied the food safety management system in accordance with ISO 22000: 2005.
