AsemconnectVietnam - According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, pepper exports in the first 5 months of 2025 reached 99,922 tonnes, equivalent to over 690.43 million USD, with an average price of 6,909.7 USD/tonne, down by 8.6% in volume, but up by 47.2% in turnover and up by 61.1% in price compared to the first 5 months of 2024.

In May of 2025 alone, it is estimated to reach 26,328 tonnes, equivalent to 182.28 million USD, with an average price of 6,923.3 USD/tonne, down by 0.4% in volume, down by 1% in turnover and down by 0.6% in price compared to April of 2025. Compared to May of 2024, it also decreased by 0.1% in volume, but increased sharply by 55.7% in turnover and 55.8% in price. Pepper exported to the US market accounted for 24.7% of the total volume and 26.8% of the total export turnover of this commodity group of the country, reaching 24,687 tonnes, equivalent to over 184.9 million USD, with an average price of 7,489.6 USD/tonne, down by 13.7% in volume but up by 43.5% in turnover and up by 66.3% in price compared to the first 5 months of 2024. In May 2025 alone, 6,926 tonnes of pepper were exported to the US, equivalent to 52.37 million USD, with a price of 7,561.7 USD/tonne, up by 2.4% in volume, up by 6.2% in turnover and up by 3.8% in price compared to April of 2025. Compared to May 2024, it increased by 18.6% in volume, 81.9% in turnover and 53.3% in price.
The German market ranked second with 8,451 tonnes of pepper, earning 63.67 million USD, up by 23.5% in volume and 93.9% in turnover over the same period last year while the exports to the Indian market 7,501 tonnes, equivalent to 53.28 million USD, priced at 7,102.6 USD/tonne, up by 10.1% in volume, up by 90.2% in turnover, up by 72.8% in price; and the exports to the U.A.E reached 3,960 tonnes, equivalent to 26.93 million USD, down by 28.8% in volume but up by 16.5% in turnover.
