AsemconnectVietnam - Export turnover of bags, suitcases, hats and umbrellas of Vietnam in September 2018 reached 244 million, down 17% over the previous month and decrease by 5.87% compared with the same month last year.

Generally in the first nine months of 2018, Vietnam's exports of this item reached more than $2.4 billion, down 0.22% over the same period last year.

United States - the largest market for Vietnam's handbags, suitcases, hats and umbrellas with turnover in September 2018 reached over $106 million, accounting for 43.8% of total turnover, down 10.89% compared with the previous month and down 2.15% over the same month last year; bringing the total export turnover to this market to $951 million, down 8.73% over the same period last year. This was followed by Japan with $25 million, down 19.18% over the previous month and down 0.6% over the same month last year, accounting for 10.6% of total exports; bringing the total turnover exports to this market in the first nine months of this year reached $274 million, up 5.62% over the same period last year. Netherlands with over $16 million, down 27.36% over the previous month and 35.19% lower than the same month last year; accounting for 6.8% of total turnover. Finally, China with $10.5 million, accounting for 4.3% of total turnover, down 30.05% over the previous month but up 7.07% over the same month last year; bringing the total export turnover imports into this market to $117 million, up 9.45% over the same period last year.

Regarding the growth of export turnover of bags, suitcases, hats and umbrellas in the first nine months of 2018, the Czech Republic increased 145.68% over the same period to over $5.1 million; Australia up 30.04% over the same period to over $43 million; Poland increased by 14.46% over the same period to over $7.4 million, followed by the UK increased 13.1% over the same period to 69 million. However, some markets have decreased in value including Denmark with $6.3 million, down 30.76% over the same period last year, followed by Norway with nearly $3 million, down 30, 45% over the same period, Singapore with more than $11.6 million, down 21.96% over the same period last year, followed by Thailand with over $9 million, down 15.25% over the same period.
