In the period, the U.S was still the biggest export market of Vietnam.

Textiles and garments were leading the list of items exported by the country to the U.S in the first nine months of this year with the export turnover of $10.33 billion, up by 11.6 per cent over the same period
last year and accounted for nearly 46 per cent of the total. 

It was followed by footwear of all kinds with $4.2 billion, up by 13.47 per cent year – on – year; and then telephones and components - $4.1 billion; wood and furniture - $2.73 billion; computers, electronics and components - $2.07 billion; machines, equipment and spare parts - $2.34 billion; and seafood - $1.14 billion. 

In the first nine months of this year, Vietnam also imported $9.55 billion worth of goods from the U.S, up by 36.9 per cent year – on – year and accounted for 5.5 per cent of the country’s total import value.
