Exports of crude oil and imports of petroleum in nine months
Saturday, October 27,2018AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s exports of crude oil and imports of petroleum saw decrease in the first nine months of this year compared with the same period last year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
Vietnam’s exports of crude oil reached 2.91 million tons worth of US$1.65 billion in the first nine months of this year, decreased by 46.4 per cent in quantity and 24.9 per cent in value over the same period last year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
In the first nine months of this year, the country also imported 2.98 million tons of crude oil worth of $1.56 billion, increased sharply by 186.2 per cent in quantity and 292.3 per cent in value over the same period last year.
The country’s exports of crude oil to the Southeast Asian countries in the first nine months of this year fell sharply by 50.8 per cent in quantity and 30.5 per cent in value compared with the same period last year to 907,393 tons worth of $514.48 million, accounted for over 31 per cent of the total.
The exports of crude oil to China reached 828,854 tons worth of $469.9 million, down by 53.3 per cent in quantity and 34.7 per cent in value year – on – year and accounted for over 28 per cent of the total.
Meanwhile, the exports of crude oil to Thailand reached 692,964 tons worth of $399.72 million; to Australia – 549,312 tons worth of $310.911 million; to Japan – 265,676 tons worth of $151.36 million; to Singapore – 135,244 tons worth of $72.49 million; to the U.S – 132,671 tons worth of $68.42 million; and to South Korea – 79,626 tons worth of $47.9 million.
Imports of petroleum reached US$6.26 billion in first nine months
Vietnam’s imports of petroleum totaled 9.33 million tons worth of US$6.26 billion in the first nine months of this year, slightly decreased by 1.8 per cent in quantity but increased sharply by 24.9 per cent in value over the same period last year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
The average petroleum import price in the first nine months of this year was $671 per ton, up by 27.3 per cent over the same period last year.
Malaysia was leading the list of petroleum import markets of Vietnam in the period with over 2.67 million tons worth of over $1.67 billion, up by 38.6 per cent in quantity and 88.7 per cent over the same period last year.
South Korea ranked second with 2.33 million tons worth of $1.71 billion, up by 9 per cent in quantity and 30.5 per cent in value year – on – year.
Meanwhile, the imports of petroleum from Singapore fell by 40.4 per cent in quantity and 21.8 per cent in value compared with the same period last year to 2.08 million tons worth of $1.33 billion.
The imports of petroleum from China increased by 44.9 per cent in quantity and 94.8 per cent in value to 1.1 million tons worth of $751.99 million.
Besides, the country’s imports of petroleum from Thailand reached 951,864 tons of petroleum worth of $641.96 million in the period, down by 13.5 per cent in quantity but up by 15.5 per cent in value; from Russia – 60,361 tons worth of $51.24 million, up by 106.3 per cent in quantity and 200.5 per cent in value; and from Hong Kong (CN) reached 102 tons worth of $61,294.
