US$2.2 billion worth of goods exported to Philippines in eight months

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam exported US$2.2 billion worth of goods to the Philippines in the first eight months of this year, increased by 20.74 per cent over the same period last year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
In the first eight months of this year, Vietnam’s exports of rice to the Philippines reached 610,000 tons worth of $280 million, up by 44.65 per cent in quantity and 67.41 per cent in value compared with the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the exports of telephones and components reached $275.8 million, up by 0.15 per cent; machines, equipment and spare parts – up by 24.88 per cent to $226.3 million; clinker and cement – up by 34.86 per cent to $190.4 million; iron and steel – up by 20.91 per cent to $150.7 million; and computers, electronics and components – up by 6.39 per cent to $119.8 million.
