Generally in the first eight months of 2018, Vietnam's exports of this item reached more than $2.2 billion, up 0.47% over the same period last year.

United States - the largest market for bags, suitcases, hats and umbrellas in Vietnam in August 2018 reached over US$119 million, accounting for 40.8% of total turnover, down 2.92 % over the previous month but up 1.44% over the same month last year, bringing total export turnover to this market up to US$845 million, down 9.49% over the same period last year.

This was followed by Japan with $32 million, down by 3.83% over the previous month but up 20.41% over the same month last year, accounting for 10.9% of total exports, bringing the total turnover exports in this market in the first eight months of the year to $249 million, up 6.31% over the same period last year.

Netherlands with more than $22 million, down 1.82% over the previous month but up 31.72% over the same month last year, accounting for 7.8% of total turnover.

Finally, the export to China reached $15 million, accounting for 5.1% of total turnover, up 12.7% over the previous month and up 1.12% over the same month last year; bringing the total export turnover to the market is $107 million, up 9.7% over the same period last year.

Regarding the growth rate of exports of handbags, suitcases, hats and umbrellas in the first eight months of 2018, the Czech Republic increased 154.68% over the same period to over $4.8 million, Australia increased 32.29% over the same period to over $38 million; Poland increased 19.17% over the same period to more than $6 million, followed by Belgium increased 15.48% over the same period to $77 million.

 However, some markets have declined, including Denmark with $5.8 million, down 31.67 percent over the same period last year, followed by Norway with more than $2.9 million, down 30.41% over the same period, Singapore with over $10.2 million, down 21.05% over the same period, and finally Malaysia with over $6.2 million, down 19.48% over the same period.
