The U.S was still the country’s biggest export market of textiles and garments in the first eight months of this year with the export turnover of $9.11 billion, up by 11.7 per cent over the same period last year and accounted for 46.1 per cent of the total.

It was followed by the EU with $2.72 billion, up by 11.4 per cent; Japan - $2.47 billion, up by 25.6 per cent; South Korea - $1.97 billion, up by 25.7 per cent; and China - $957.07 million, up by 42.7 per cent.

In the EU, Germany was leading with the export turnover of $532.03 million, up by 10.2 per cent year – on – year; to Canada - $441.06 million, up by 19 per cent; to the Netherlands - $407.08 million, up by 4.3 per cent; to France - $381.89 million, up by 17.3 per cent; and to Spain - $311.98 million, up by 8.4 per cent.

In the first eight months of this year, Vietnams exports of textiles and garments to Angola increased sharply by 149.6 per cent to $12.95 million; to Hungary – up by 107 per cent to $2.87 million; to Finland – up by 101.9 per cent to $11.27 million; to Poland – up by 59.5 per cent to $39.5 million; and to Myanmar – up by 58 per cent to $16.63 million. 

However, the exports of textiles and garments to Senegal decreased sharply by 89.5 per cent year – on – year to $0.15 million; to Slovakia – down by 44.8 per cent to $0.68; and to Nigeria – down by 15.2 per cent to $5.23 million.
