Also in the first eight months, the country imported over $1.4 billion worth of wood and furniture, up by 2.4 per cent year – on – year. So the country got over $4 billion in wood and furniture trade.

Vietnam exported wood and furniture to over 40 countries and territories in the world, leading by the U.S with $2.3 billion, up by 15.29 per cent year – on – year and accounted for 42.2 per cent of the total.

China ranked second with $732.1 million, up by 3.71 per cent year – on – year; and then Japan, South Korea, Britain, Australia.

In the first eight months of this year, Vietnam’s exports of wood and furniture to the South East Asian countries increased sharply by 81.44 per cent to $118.4 million; and to the EU countries - $493.1 million, up by 3.23 per cent.

In the first eight months of this year, Vietnam’s exports of wood and furniture to Czech increased sharply by 2.39 times or 139.69 per cent to $1.2 million; but to Kuwait and Hong Kong (CN) decreased sharply by 51.26 per cent and 32.65 per cent to $5.6 million and $4.3 million, respectively year – on – year.

In the first eight months of this year, Vietnam’s exports of wood and furniture to Australia reached $121.3 million, up by 15.97 per cent year – on – year.
