Exports of textiles and garments saw growth in first half
Monday, August 6,2018AsemconnectVietnam - In the first half of this year, Vietnam’s exports of textiles and garments increased by 16.1 per cent in value compared with the same period last year to nearly US$13.64 billion, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
However, the exports of textiles and garments to Senegal decreased sharply by 89.4 per cent to $.0.14 million; to Slovakia – down by 37.2 per cent; to Russia – down by 14.2 per cent; and to Nigeria – down by 13.6 per cent over the same period of 2017.
The U.S was the country’s biggest textile and garment export markets of Vietnam in the first six months of this year with the export turnover of $6.4 billion, up by 11.2 per cent over the same period last year. Japan ranked second with $1.7 billion, up by 23.8 per cent; South Korea - $1.3 billion, up by 25.1 per cent; and China - $632.58 million, up by 45.2 per cent.
