In May, the country’s exports of cashew nuts increased by 13.5 per cent in quantity and 10 per cent in value compared with the previous month to 36,501 tons worth of $ 341.12 million. The figure was up by 10.3 per cent in quantity and 3.5 per cent in value compared with the same period last year. 

The U.S was the country’s biggest cashew export market in the first five months of this year with 53,935 tons worth of $ 532.66 million, increased by 29.5 per cent in quantity and 30.6 per cent in value compared with the same period last year.

The Netherlands followed with 17,520 tons worth of $ 183.99 million, up by 2 per cent in quantity and 10.5 per cent in value; and then China with 15,772 tons worth of $ 152.89 million, up by 6.3 per cent in quantity and 8.2 per cent in value. 

In the first five months of this year, Vietnam’s exports of cashew nuts to Ukraine rocketed by 309 per cent in quantity and 364.4 per cent in value to 274 tons worth of $ 2.64 million. Meanwhile, the exports of cashew nuts to Greece increased by 126.3 per cent to $ 2.64 million; to the Philippines – up by 107.4 per cent to $ 6.42 million; to South Africa – up by 78.4 per cent to $ 5.03 million; to France – up by 77.2 per cent to $ 20.84 million; and to Italy – up by 76 per cent to $ 25.86 million.

However, the exports of cashew nuts to the Philippines decreased by 93.5 per cent in quantity and 94 per cent in value to 14 tons worth of $ 0.13 million; to the U.A.E – down by 21.2 per cent; to New Zealand – down by 3.6 per cent; to Australia – down by 18.7 per cent year – on – year.
