In May, the country exported $ 342.49 million worth of goods to Australia, increased sharply by 48 per cent month – on – month.

Coal was leading the list of items exported by the country to Australia in the first five months of this year with the export turnover of $ 341.07 million, up by 81.9 per cent year – on - year and accounted for 25.2 per cent of the total. It was followed by ordinary metals with $ 253.81 million, up by 3.3 per cent; and then wheat with $ 146.67 million, down by 23.9 per cent.

In the period, the country’s exports of ores and minerals to Australia rocketed by 11.7 times compared with the same period last year to $ 100.89 million; iron and steel – up by 174.9 per cent to $ 11.4 million; fruits and vegetables – up by 105 per cent to $ 33.12 million; and coal – up by 81.8 per cent to $ 341.07 million; oil and grease – up by 73.5 per cent to $ 2.87 million; and cotton – up by 526 per cent to $ 19.52 million.  

However, the exports of milk and dairy products; wheat; food products and textile and garment materials to Australia decreased by 39.2 per cent; 23.9 per cent; 23.8 per cent and 21 per cent year – on – year.
