Exports of paper and products to China increased sharply

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s exports of paper and products in the first five months of this year totaled US$ 405.8 million, increased by 55.3 per cent over the same period of 2017, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.

The country exported paper and products mostly to the South East Asian countries, which accounted for 26.5 per cent of the total, while the exports to EU countries accounted for only 0.3 per cent.

In the first five months of this year, China was leading the list of the country’s major export markets of paper and products with the export turnover of $ 90.8 million, accounted for 22.3 per cent of the total and increased by 11.5 folds or 1,046.82 per cent over the same period of 2017.
It was followed by the U.S with $ 56 million, up by 15.94 per cent; and then Taiwan - $ 37.7 million, up by 7.26 per cent.

In the first five months of this year, Vietnam’s exports of paper and products to South Korea increased sharply by 169.77 per cent to $ 8.2 million; and to the Philippines – up by 160.6 per cent to $ 13.5 million.
However, the exports of paper and products to Germany fell by 50.42 per cent to $ 655,000.
