Exports to Britain and France in first five months

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s exports of goods to Britain and France saw growth in the first five months of this year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.

Exports to France increased nearly 11 per cent in 5 months
Vietnam exported US$ 1.4 billion worth of goods to France in the first five months of this year, increased by 10.57 per cent over the same period last year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.

Telephones and components were leading the list of items exported by the country to France in the first 5 months of this year with the export turnover of $ 501.1 million, up by 3.12 per cent compared with the same period last year. It was followed by footwear of all kinds with $ 205 million, up by 0.75 per cent; and then textiles and garments with $ 193 million, up by 22.33 per cent year – on – year.

In the first five months of this year, the country’s exports of rice to France increased by 3 times or 203.4 per cent compared with the same period last year to $ 494, 700; while the exports of iron and steel products – up by 2.1 times or 114.44 per cent to $ 9.9 million; bamboo, rattan, sedge and carpet products – up by 64.46 per cent to $ 5.9 million; and cashew nuts – up by 77.19 per cent to $ 20.8 million.
However, the exports of pepper and rubber fell by 48.9 per cent and 44.57 per cent to $ 2.6 million and $ 1.4 million, respectively.

In the first five months of this year, the country exported $ 42.1 million worth of seafood to France, increased by 11.9 per cent over the same period of 2017.

Exports to Britain reached US$ 2.2 billion
Vietnam’s exports of goods to Britain increased by 14.91 per cent over the same period last year to over US$ 2.2 billion showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.

The country’s exports of electric wires and cables to Britain in the first five months of this year increased sharply by 5 times compared with the same period of 2017 to US$ 3.6 million

Telephones and components were the leading items exported by the country to Britain in the first five months of this year with $ 887.5 million, up by 28.03 per cent year – on – year and accounted for 39.7 per cent of the total. It was followed by textiles and garments with $ 272.8 million, up by 3.68 per cent; and then footwear of all kinds with $ 265.9 million, down by 1.42 per cent.

In the first five months of this year, the country’s exports of electric wires and cables to Britain increased sharply by 5 times or 374.36 per cent to $ 3.6 million; precious stones, metals and products – up by 3 times or 146.77 per cent to $ 1.6 million.

Besides, the exports of iron and steel of all kinds reached $ 35.7 million, up by 115.32 per cent; but the exports of pepper – down by 44.12 per cent to $ 7.9 million; fibers of all kinds – down by 27.73 per cent to $ 4.8 million; and ceramic and porcelain products – down by 25.78 per cent to $ 9.7 million.
