Exports of handicrafts to India increased sharply

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s exports of goods to India reached US$ 1.5 billion in the first quarter of this year, increased sharply by 110.85 per cent over the same period last year.

Machines, equipment and spare parts were the leading item exported by the country to India in the period with the export turnover of $ 481.7 million, up by over 5 folds compared with the same period last year.
It was followed by telephones and components with $ 200.1 million, up by 99.67 per cent; and then ordinary metals and products – up by 37.39 per cent to $ 145.8 million.

In the first quarter of this year, Vietnam’s exports of almost all items to India saw growth. The exports of bamboo, rattan, sedge and carpet products increased sharply by 10 times year – on – year to $ 506,400; coal, means of transport and spare parts; and iron and steel products increased by nearly 4 times each; and rubber – up by 121.18 per cent; and iron and steel of all kinds – up by 131.81 per cent.

However, the country’s exports of tea to India decreased sharply by 54.63 per cent to 240 tons worth of $ 223,200.
