Exports of rubber to India and Pakistan increased sharply
Wednesday, May 2,2018AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s exports of rubber in the first quarter of this year increased slightly by 4.7 per cent in quantity but down by 24.2 per cent in value compared with the same period last year to 260,900 tons worth of US$ 385.7 million, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
Meanwhile, the exports of rubber to EU and the South East Asian countries accounted for 8.6 and 7.2 per cent of the total, respectively.
In the first quarter of this year, the country’s exports of rubber to India and Pakistan increased sharply by over 3 times in quantity and 2 times in value to 19,400 tons and 1,300 tons, respectively. Besides, the exports of rubber to Russia, Sweden and Indonesia also increased by 91.64 per cent; 92.37 per cent; and 58.11 per cent, respectively.
In the first quarter of the year, the country’s exports of rubber to China decreased by 7.39 per cent in quantity and 34.36 per cent in value to 148,400 tons worth of $ 216.7 million.
