Vietnam posts $2.26 bln trade surplus in March

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam had a trade surplus of $2.26 billion in March, much higher than the government estimate of a $800 million surplus, the customs department said.

Exports in March rose 47.5 percent from a month earlier to $21.13 billion, while imports fell 34.5 percent from February to $18.88 billion. The January-March trade surplus is adjusted to $2.69 billion, Vietnam Customs said on its website.

Vietnam posted a trade surplus for the second year in a row in 2017 at $2.9 billion, customs data showed. The government has targeted a growth of 8 to 10 percent in exports this year from 2017.
