Trade surplus reached US$ 1.3 billion in first quarter

The country’s total trade revenue was estimated at $ 107.32 billion in the first 3 months of this year, increased by 17.7 per cent over the same period last year. The leading export items in March were telephones and components with $ 5 billion, up by 47.1 per cent month – on – month; textiles and garments - $ 2.2 billion, up by 35 per cent; computers, electronics and components - $ 2.2 billion, up by 28 per cent.
Especially, in March of this year, the exports of seafood increased sharply by 48.1 per cent over the previous month to $ 600 million. The total seafood exports in the first 3 months of this year were at $ 1.67 billion, up by 11.2 per cent year – on – year.
The exports of coffee in March reached 180,000 tons worth of $ 347 million, up by 38.6 per cent, and by 38.1 per cent, respectively over the same period last year. The figure of the first 3 months of this year was 510 million tons worth of $ 989 million.
Meanwhile, the leading import items in March were computers, electronics and components - $ 3.6 billion; machines, equipment and spare parts - $ 2.5 billion; telephones and components - $ 1.1 billion; petroleum of all kinds - $ 800 million.
