Trade exchange between Vietnam and China in first two months
Monday, April 2,2018AsemconnectVietnam - The bilateral trade exchange between Vietnam and China reached US$ 14.84 billion in the first two months of this year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
Of the figure, the country exported $ 5.67 billion worth of goods to; and imported $ 9.16 billion worth of goods from China, increased by 50.6 per cent and 20.4 per cent, respectively year – on – year. So in the first two months of this year, Vietnam got $ 3.49 billion of deficit in trade exchange with China.
Leading items imported from China in the first two months of 2018
Machines, equipment and spare parts; telephones and components; computers, electronics and components were the three import items in 1 billion club.
Machines, equipment and spare parts were leading in the list of items imported by the country from China in the first two months of this year with the import value of nearly $ 1.72 billion, up by 14.7 per cent year – on – year. It was followed by telephones and components with $ 1.42 billion, up by 40.6 per cent; and then computers, electronics and components - $ 1.05 billion, up by 7 per cent.
In the first two months of this year, Vietnam’s imports of cameras, camcorders and components from China increased sharply by 178.7 per cent to $ 134.35 million.
Meanwhile, the imports of petroleum from China also increased by 110.6 per cent year – on – year in the first two months of this year to $ 139.37 million; household appliances – up by 94.9 per cent to $ 82.91 million; coal – up by 80.8 per cent to $ 34.59 million; animal feed and materials – up b 78.9 per cent to $ 37.05 million; cotton – up by 77.8 per cent to $ 0.21 million.
However, the imports of CBU autos from China in the first two months of this year fell sharply by 85.8 per cent to $ 2.44 million; tobacco materials – down by 49.4 per cent to $ 8.42 million; fertilizer – down by 44.5 per cent to $ 41.43 million; pharmaceuticals – down by 43.5 per cent to $ 5.08 million.
Exports to China in the first two months of 2018
Vietnam’s exports of goods to China reached US$ 5.67 billion in the first two months of this year, increased sharply by 50.6 per cent over the same period last year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
In February only, the country’s exports of goods to China increased 45.8 per cent month – on – month to $ 2.1 billion. The figure was up by 2.6 per cent over the same month of last year.
In the first two months of this year, Vietnam’s exports of telephones and components to China rocketed by over 13 folds year – on – year to $ 1.22 billion. Meanwhile, the exports of computers, electronics and components to China increased by 37.7 per cent to $ 1.14 billion; fruits and vegetables - $ 502.06 million, up by 62 per cent; cameras, camcorders and components - $ 287.68 million, up by 11.4 per cent; footwear of all kinds - $ 226.53 million, up by 29.5 per cent.
In the first two months of this year, Vietnam’s exports of paper and products to China increased sharply by 253.3 per cent to $ 12.32 million; plastic products – up by 168.4 per cent to $ 16.24 million; plastics – up by 162 per cent to $ 59.9 million; petroleum – up by 107.7 per cent to $ 62.6 million.
However, the exports of glass and products to China decreased by 67.2 per cent to $ 4.21 million; crude oil – down by 48 per cent; and rubber – down by 42 per cent.
