Medicines imports fell
Friday, March 16,2018AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s imports of medicines fell sharply by 45.3 per cent month – on - month in the February to only US$ 128.3 million, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
The figure brought the country’s total imports of medicines in the first two months of this year to $ 362.6 million, down by 4.8 per cent over the same period last year.
Vietnam imported medicines from 26 countries and territories, leading by France with $ 39.5 million, up by 2.27 per cent year – on – year.
Germany followed with $ 35.1 million, down by 31.61 per cent; and then India – down by 19.23 per cent.
In the first two months of this year, the country’s imports of medicines from Taiwan decreased sharply by 77.56 per cent while the imports from Malaysia, Russia and Austria decreased by over 50 per cent.
However, the imports of medicines from Belgium, Japan and Denmark increased sharply by 154.48 per cent; 122.69 per cent and 116 per cent to $ 6.4 million; $ 11.5 million; and $ 5.6 million, respectively.
