Footwear exports saw growth in first month of 2018
Thursday, March 15,2018AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam earned US$ 1.42 billion from exports of footwear of all kinds in the first month of this year, down by 3.5 per cent over the previous month but up by 21.1 per cent over the same month of 2017.
The exports of footwear to China increased sharply by 68.8 per cent compared with the same period last year to $ 129.55 million; to Japan – up by 39.6 per cent to $ 98.4 million; to Germany – down by 7.2 per cent to $ 85.91 million; to Belgium – up by 11 per cent to $ 83.54 million.
In the first month of this year, the country’s exports of footwear to India increased sharply by 138.8 per cent to $ 9.93 million; to China – up by 68.8 per cent to $ 129.55 million; to Singapore – up by 67 per cent to $ 6.55 million; to Portugal – up by 58.5 per cent to $ 0.38 million; to Argentina – up by 54.3 per cent to $ 9.21 million; to Taiwan – up by 51.5 per cent to $ 12.96 million.
This year, the footwear and leather industry aims at reaching the export turnover of $ 20 billion, up by 10 per cent over the year of 2017.
