Trade exchange with China totaled US$ 93.69 billion in 2017
Saturday, February 3,2018AsemconnectVietnam - The bilateral trade exchange between Vietnam and China reached US$ 93.69 billion in 2017, increased by $ 21.79 billion compared with 2016, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
Telephones and components were leading the list of items exported by the country to China last year with the export turnover of $ 7.15 billion, rocketed by 794 per cent and accounted for 20.2 per cent of the total. It was followed by computers, electronics and components with $ 6.86 billion, up by 69 per cent; and then fruits and vegetables with $ 2.65 billion, up by 52 per cent; fibers of all kinds - $ 2.04 billion, up by 23.7 per cent; cameras, camcorders and components - $ 2.09 billion, up by 25.8 per cent year – on – year.
However, the country’s exports of tea to China decreased by 43.6 per cent; crude oil – down by 19.7 per cent; coal – down by 33.5 per cent; coffee – down by 20.2 per cent and handbags, wallets, suitcases, hats and umbrellas – down by 3.4 per cent.
Last year, the country’s exports of paper and products to China increased sharply by 24 times to $ 113.98 million; cement and clinker – up by 55 times to $ 47.61 million; telephones and components – up by 8 times to $ 7.15 billion; chemicals – up by 96 per cent to $ 193.75 million.
