US$ 2.5 billion earned from rice exports in 11 months
Tuesday, December 12,2017AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam exported 5.52 million tons of rice worth of US$ 2.49 billion in the first 11 months of this year, increased by 24.1 per cent in quantity and 24.9 per cent in value over the same period last year, according to the Import and Export Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Meanwhile, the exports of rice to the Philippines also increased sharply by 41.3 per cent; to Malaysia – up by 97.3 per cent; and to Ivory Coast – up by 39.7 per cent.
The country’s exports of rice are expected to reach 400,000-450,000 tons and bring the total rice exports in 2017 to 5.9 – 6 million tons, up by 1.1 – 1.2 million tons compared with 2016.
