Vietnam is the world's biggest coffee producer after Brazil, and is the top robusta grower. It produces nearly 20 percent of global output.
The Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association said coffee exports this year could fall 20-30 percent from 2016. The government aims to keep the total area at 600,000 hectares by 2020 to produce 1.7 million tonnes annually.
Vietnam has around 100 export firms in operation, led by Intimex, Simexco and Tin Nghia.
Germany and the United States were the top buyers by value in January-October 2017, according to statistics from the farm ministry.
