Petroleum was leading the list of items exported by the country to Laos in the period with 119,300 tons wroth of $ 64.5 million, up by 32.5 per cent in quantity and 70.19 per cent in value over the same period last year; accounted for 16.7 per cent of the total. 

It was followed by iron and steel with 82,400 tons worth of $ 56 million, down by 19.71 per cent in quantity but up by 0.66 per cent in value; means of transport and spare parts - $ 38.7 million, up by 21.97 per cent year – on – year.

In the period, the country’s exports of coal to Laos increased sharply by over 17 folds in quantity and 16.5 folds in value compared with the same period last year to 2,400 tons worth of $ 197,000; while the exports of plastic products increased sharply by 103.2 per cent to $ 12 million; fertilizer – up by 94.35 per cent to $ 13.6 million; and fruit and vegetables – up by 58.3 per cent to $ 6.2 million.
