Vietnam got nearly US$ 4 billion of deficit in trade exchange with Thailand
Tuesday, October 17,2017AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam got $ 3.97 billion of deficit in trade exchange with Thailand in the first nine months of this year. The figure is expected to reach $ 6 billion this year.
In the first nine months of this year, the bilateral trade exchange between Vietnam and Thailand reached $ 11 billion. Of the figure, the country exported $ 3.52 billion worth of goods to; and imported $ 7.4 billion worth of goods from Thailand.
In the first 3 quarters of this year, Vietnam imported over 40 items from Thailand, leading by household appliances and components with the export turnover of $ 689.5 million, down by 6.21 per cent year – on - year; and then fruit and vegetables - $ 680.7 million, up by 135.08 per cent; machines, equipment and spare parts - $ 656.7 million, up by 11.27 per cent.
Especially, the imports of liquefied gas increased by 6.6 per cent in quantity but rocketed by 8,809.2 per cent in value over the same period last year to 42,400 tons worth of $ 22.2 million.
Besides, the country’s imports of tobacco materials from Thailand also increased sharply by 796.77 per cent; oil and grease – up by 206.43 per cent; ordinary metals – up by 195.97 per cent to $ 394,100; $ 12.4 million; and $ 173.7 million, respectively.
