The bilateral trade exchange between Vietnam and Thailand is developing. Thailand has become the biggest trade partner of Vietnam in ASEAN with the two way trade in 2016 of $ 12.5 billion, up by 8.9 per cent compared with 2015 and nearly $ 7 billion in the first six months of this year, up by 22.5 per cent over the same period of 2016.

In the first seven months of this year, the bilateral trade exchange between Vietnam and Thailand totaled $ 7.3 billion. Of the figure, the country exported $ 2.6 billion worth of goods to, and imported $ 4.7 billion worth of goods from Thailand.

Cell phones and accessories were the leading item exported by the country to Thailand in the first seven months of this year with $ 627.7 million, up by 38.97 per cent. It was followed by computers, electronics and components - $ 289.1 million; up by 29.19 per cent; and crude oil - $ 234.3 million, up by 224.92 per cent.
