Exports to Indonesia: exports of farm products fell sharply
Monday, August 21,2017AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s exports of farm products to Indonesia fell sharply year – on – year in the first seven months of this year.
In the period, the country’s exports of rice to Indonesia decreased by 96 per cent; coffee – down by 51.2 per cent; tea – down by 47.7 per cent; fruit and vegetables – down by 57 per cent.
According to the figures of the General Department of Customs, the country’s total exports of goods to Indonesia in the first seven months of this year increased by 10.3 per cent year – on – year to over US$ 1.63 billion.
Cell phones and accessories were leading the list of items exported by the country to Indonesia in the first seven months of the year with the export turnover of $ 358.27 million, accounted for 21.9 per cent of the total and increased by 19.9 per cent year –on – year.
It was followed by iron and steel of all kinds with $ 222.08 million; machines, equipment and spare parts, equipment and spare parts - $ 136.1 million; computers, electronics and components - $ 127.8 million; textile, garment, leather and footwear materials - $ 108.1 million.
In the first seven months of this year, the country’s exports of chemicals to Indonesia increased sharply by 430 per cent to $ 22.91 million, while the exports of confectionery and grain products – up by 367 per cent to $ 5.79 million; paper and products – up by 108 per cent to $ 108.1 million; ores and minerals - up by 298 per cent to $ 1.2 million.
However, the exports of farm products to Indonesia decreased sharply by 96 per cent; coffee – down by 51.2 per cent; tea – down by 47.7 per cent; fruit and vegetables – down by 57 per cent; and coal and petroleum – both down by over 70 per cent year – on – year.
