Exports to ASEM countries in four months

AsemconnectVietnam - In the first four months of this year, Vietnam’s exports of goods to the several ASEM member countries still increased in comparison with the same period of 2016.

The exports to Australia increased sharply by over 21 per cent to over US$ 1 billion; while the exports to Russia, and Sweden increased by 28 per cent and 5.8 per cent to $ 612.2 billion; and $ 302.4 billion, respectively. 
Vietnam’s exports to Australia reached over $ 1 billion
Australia has been being an important trade partner of Vietnam. In the first four months of this year, Vietnam exported over US$ 1 billion worth of goods to Australia, increased by 21.22 per cent over the same period of 2016.
In the first four months of this year, Vietnam exported to Australia over 30 items, leading by cell phones and accessories, with the export turnover of $ 252 million, up by 9.88 per cent over the same period last year. It was followed by computers, electronics and components with $ 117.3 million, up by 76.46 per cent; and footwear of all kinds - $ 68.3 million, up by 26.29 per cent.
Om the first four months of this year, Vietnam’s exports of iron and steel of all kinds to Australia increased sharply by 180.46 per cent year – on – year to $ 18.9 million; plastics – up by 86.56 per cent; chemical products – up by 64.9 per cent; non – wooden furniture – up by 63.04 per cent; toys, sports equipment and spare parts – up by 61.95 per cent.
Vietnam - Russia trade exchange is expected to reach US$ 10 billion in 2020
By the end of April, Vietnam has exported US$ 612.2 million worth of goods to Russia, increased by 28 per cent over the same period of 2016.
Cell phones and accessories were leading the list of items exported by the country to Russia in the period with the export turnover of $ 300.8 million, up by 43.2 per cent over the same period last year. It was followed by textiles and garments with $ 51.9 million, up by 146.47 per cent; coffee - $ 37.8 million, down by 18.14 per cent.
Meanwhile, the country’s exports of computers, electronics and components reached $ 33.5 million, up by 16.6 per cent; and footwear - $ 27.9 million, up by 10.82 per cent.
In the first four months of this year, Vietnam’s exports of rice to Russia rocketed by 2,354.48 per cent to $ 4.1 million while the exports of rubber to Russia were down by 5.73 per cent to $ 3.1 million.
Last year, the bilateral trade exchange between Vietnam and Russia reached $ 2.7 billion, up by 25 per cent over the previous year. The figure of the first four months of this year was up by 30 per cent year – on – year to $ 1.1 billion. The two countries are expected to raise the bilateral trade exchange to $ 10 billion in 2020.
Exports to Sweden saw growth of 5.8 per cent in the first four months
Vietnam’s exports of goods to Sweden saw growth of 5.8 per cent to US$ 302.4 million in the first four months of this year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
Cell phones and accessories were leading the list of items exported by the country to Sweden in the reviewed period with the export turnover of $ 160.8 million, down by 0.32 per cent year – on – year and accounted for 53.1 per cent of the total. It was followed by computers, electronics and components with $ 22 million, up by 35.8 per cent; and textiles and garments - $ 21.2 million, up by 9.09 per cent.
In the first four months of this year, the country’s exports of machines, equipment and spare parts to Sweden increased sharply by 168.41 per cent to $ 7.1 million; while the exports of seafood to Sweden decreased by 32.23 per cent to $ 3.7 million.
Exports to and imports from Denmark increased
The bilateral trade exchange between Vietnam and Denmark totaled US$ 144.4 million in the first quarter of this year, increased by 8.4 per cent over the same period last year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
Of the figure, the country exported $ 71 million worth of goods to and imported $ 73.4 million worth of goods from Denmark, up by 12.29 per cent and 5 per cent, respectively over the same period last year.
So by the end of the first quarter, Vietnam got over $ 2.3 million of deficit in trade exchange with Denmark.
Textiles and garments were leading the list of items exported by Vietnam to Denmark in the first quarter of this year with the export turnover of $ 14.7 million, up by 3.88 per cent year – on – year and accounted for 20.7 per cent of the total. It was followed by seafood with $ 9.8 million, up by 107.15 per cent; and footwear - $ 9.8 million, down by 7.12 per cent.
In the first quarter of this year, Vietnam’s exports of means of transport and spare parts to Denmark increased sharply by 221 per cent to $ 265,800; handbags, wallets, suitcases, hats and umbrellas – up by 122.47 per cent to $ 1.7 million while the exports of machines, equipment and spare parts were down by 10.66 per cent.
