Vietnam’s imports of pharmaceuticals reached $ 831.7 million in the first four months of this year, increased by 5.1 per cent over the same period last year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.

Germany was the biggest pharmaceutical import market of Vietnam in the first four months of this year with the import value of $ 95.4 million, up by 48.4 per cent year – on – year and accounted for 11.4 per cent of the total.

It was followed by India with $ 88.1 million, down by 4.08 per cent; and France - $ 87 million, down by 3.85 per cent.

In the first four months of this year, Vietnam’s imports of pharmaceuticals from Russia rocketed by 849.84 per cent to $ 2.3 million; but the imports from Indonesia decreased sharply by 73.01 per cent to $ 4.4 million; and the imports from Singapore decreased by 67.01 per cent to $ 1.3 million.
