Fertilizer imports increased

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam imported fertilizer mostly from China. The country’s imports of fertilizer from China accounted for 37.8 per cent of the total.

The country imported 773,800 tons of fertilizer worth of US$ 207 million in the first two months of this year, increased by 36.02 per cent in quantity and 22.52 per cent in value over the same period last year.
In the period, China was leading the list of the country’s biggest fertilizer import markets with 293,100 tons worth of $ 74.6 million, up by 18 per cent in quantity and 9.66 per cent in value year – on – year.
It was followed by Russia with 69,900 tons worth of $ 21.3 million, rocketed by 316.46 per cent in quantity and 237.5 per cent in value over the same period also year; Japan – 55,400 tons worth of $ 7 million, up by 73.28 per cent in quantity and 55.95 per cent in value.
The other import markets of fertilizer were Taiwan, Germany, Norway, Thailand and the U.S.
In the reviewed period, the country’s imports of fertilizer from the Philippines and Norway rocketed by 1,133.33 per cent and 1,080.08 per cent to 9,600 tons and 6,000 tons, respectively.
However, the imports from Israel decreased sharply by 98.01 per cent in quantity and 94.48 per cent in value to 451 tons worth of $ 430,500.
