Vietnam imported US$ 424.8 million worth of goods from Germany in the first 2 months of this year, increased by 14.25 per cent over the same period last year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.

Machines, equipment and spare parts were the leading items imported by the country from Germany in the period with the import value of $ 170.7 million, down by 5.07 per cent year – on – year.

It was followed by pharmaceuticals; CBU autos; wood and furniture; paper; cloth; milk; textile, garment, leather and footwear materials, etc.

In the first 2 months of this year, the country’s imports of  iron and steel from Germany increased by 180.32 per cent year – on – year; CBU autos – up by 133.65 per cent; ores and minerals – up by 103.86 per cent; animal feed and materials – up by 129.89 per cent to $ 2.4 million; $ 22.5 million; $ 497,000 and $ 1.3 million. However, the country’s imports of milk and dairy products decreased by 46.21 per cent to $ 5.3 million.
