From the beginning of the year to February 20, 2017, the foreign direct investment (FDI) attracted 313 newly licensed projects with the registered capital of US$ 2028.9 million, up 7.6% in the number of projects and up 6.5% in the registered capital against the similar period in 2016. Besides, there were 137 times of license-granted projects from previous years registering to adjust investment capital with the additional capital of US$ 759.2 million.

In two months of this year, there were 654 times of contributing capital and purchasing shares by foreign investors with the total contributed capital of US$ 619 million. Thus, the total registered capital of newly and additionally financed projects and the investment in the form of capital contribution, share purchase in two beginning months of 2017 reached US$ 3407.4 million, up 21.5% from the last year’s same period. Realized FDI capital in the first two months of 2017 was estimated to gain US$ 1550 million, up 3.3% from 2016’s similar period.

In two beginning months of the year, the whole country had 34 provinces and cities directly under the central management which received newly licensed FDI projects from 34 nations and territories.
