Telephones and accessories were leading the list of items exported by the country to Italy in the first month of this year with the export turnover of $ 144.8 million, accounted for 46 per cent of the total and increased sharply by 86.3 per cent year – on – year.

The other leading items exported to Italy in the first month of the year were footwear of all kinds - $ 29.1 million, down by 21.9 per cent over the same period last year; coffee - $ 27.1 million; computers, electronics and components – over $ 21 million; textiles and garments - $ 17.9 million.

In January, the country’s exports of iron and steel to Italy increased sharply by 133 per cent; chemicals – up by 109 per cent; and means of transport – up by 62 per cent.

However, the exports of iron and steel decreased by 54.8 per cent; fruit and vegetables – down by 49.7 per cent; pepper – down by 45.7 per cent; computers, electronics and components – down by 32.6 per cent.
