Vietnam's Jan-Feb rice exports seen down 17.2 pct y/y

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam, the world's third-largest rice exporter after India and Thailand, shipped an estimated 799,000 tonnes of the grain between January and February, down 17.2 percent from the same time a year ago, the agriculture ministry said on Monday.
Revenue from the rice exports, mostly shipped to China, Ghana and the Philippines, will reach an estimated $248 million, tumbling 40.6 percent from a year earlier, the ministry said in a monthly report.
