Exports of textiles and garments may not reach US$ 30 billion in 2016
Monday, August 29,2016AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s exports of textiles and garments reached only US$ 13.15 billion in the first 7 months of this year, up by 4.7 per cent over the same period last year and much lower than the previous figures, according to the preliminary statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
The U.S; Japan and South Korea were the country’s leading export markets of textiles and garments in the period. The exports to the U.S reached $ 6.52 billion, up by 3.48 per cent year – on – year and accounted for 49.6 per cent of the total. Meanwhile, the exports to Japan reached nearly $ 1.55 billion, up by 4.4 per cent; and to South Korea - $ 1.07 billion, up by 13.7 per cent.
As the falling world consumption, the country’s exports of textiles and garments may not reach $ 30 billion this year.
