AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam exported US$ 391.38 million worth of precious stones, metals and products in the first 5 months of this year, increased sharply by 58.7 per cent over the same period last year, according to the statistics figures.

In May only, the country’s export of precious stones, metals and products reached $ 125.01 million, up by 78.6 per cent month – on – month.

Switzerland was the country’s biggest export market of precious stones, metals and products in the first 5 months of this year with the export turnover of $ 156.66 million, accounted for 40 per cent of the total and rocketed by 1.322,8 per cent year – on – year.   

It was followed by the U.S with $ 145.89 million, up by 1.5 per cent year – on – year and accounted for 37.3 per cent of the total; and the U.A.E with $ 21.1 million, up by 23.1 per cent.  

In the first 5 months of this year, the country’s export of precious stones, metals and products to South Korea increased by 43 per cent; that to Thailand – up by 15.6 per cent; and to Germany – up by 14.5 per cent. 

However, the export to Belgium decreased by 39.9 per cent; to France – down by 20.7 per cent; and to Australia – down by 19.6 per cent.
