AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam's rice exports in the January-November period are estimated to have dropped 2.7 percent from a year before to 6.03 million tonnes, the agriculture ministry said on Wednesday.

Revenue from rice shipments in the 11-month period may edge up 1.9 percent from the same period in 2013 to $2.8 billion, the ministry said in its monthly report.

Vietnam, the world's second-largest exporter after India in 2013, has forecast its sales abroad this year would drop to between 6.3 million and 6.5 million tonnes from 6.7 million last year due in part to competition from Thailand.
