Vietnam-EU trade surplus in 10 months reaches $15.5b
Monday, November 24,2014AsemconnectVietnam - As per statistics released by the general Administration Customs, in Jan-Oct, Vietnam’s export value to 28 European Union member countries reached $22.8 billion.
Conversely, Vietnam’s total import value from these countries arrived at more than $7.3 billion.
Regarding the restructure, telephones and accessories are items that have largest export value to this market, accounting for more than 30.5 percent of the total export value. However, compared to the first 10 months of 2013, EU reduced slightly the import of telephones and accessories from Vietnam. The EU market contributed as much as 36 percent to the export value of this group of items.
Following telephones are footwear of all types with the export proportion of nearly 13 percent. The EU is the largest consumer of Vietnam footwear. The 10-month growth amounted to 25.5 percent year-on-year regarding value.
The textile exports to the EU was also growing well with the increase in the first 10 months of 2014 at 24.2 percent year-on-year, accounting for 12 percent of Vietnam’s total export value to this market.
Similarly, the sea product export to the EU in the first 10 months of 2014 rose 26 percent year-on year. This is the second largest market of the industry.
Basically, most of Vietnam’s essential consumer goods to the EU have rather good growth while such items as telephones, electronics, etc. are decreasing from the same period last year.
